Having expectations that match experience is important.  This place is ok for lunch.  It's fast casual with numbers not table service.  The food was meh+, but it was nicer than some of the smarmy places closeer to the =aquarium where I felt more like my pocket had been picked.

Lonely Planet does a great job but often a huge disservice to tourists and businesses. We walked by this place along the water and saw they had a great HH deal. Now per LP, you should stay away from anything in any of the harbors. Well, if you want to find a hidden drinking hole 2 miles away that charges 15 dollars per crafted cocktail and is not so hidden anymore, be my guest. IF you're on a budget and want to be out in public with a great views and are tired of buying wine at the grocery store to drink in your hostel...then some areas despite their tourist reputation might be in your favor....and it was packed with local folks getting off work to have drinks.
Anyway...we had a great seat right on the boardwalk and had some decent house wine until 7pm when the HH ended. The bar backs realize how important HH is so they pour fast and generously.
Don't know about the food as we only had alcohol.

The place is actually pretty good for drinks although there's no table service. Didn't try any food.

Tried the $10 steak for lunch today.

Nice spot but the steak is horrible and my knife can't even go through it, left over half of it in the plate. What you really get for $10 is chips, a bit of salad and a view on darling harbour.

    NOT recommended.

This is the best public transport shelter I've ever seen! We were waiting for a boat and the rain came down like it was international remember Noah day,  thank goodness for the Cargo Bar. The heater soon turned our wet into sweat,  and my expensive beer into beer flavoured hot water,  but at least we weren't standing in the rain. We tried a plate of mixed dips but I think it was less mixed dip plate and more vintage dip plate - have you ever seen a seagull throw food back?

It's expensive,  not very good,  and there are better options all around.
